The former England captain Michael Vaughan who is known for posting some offensive and controversial tweets has come up with a tweet regarding Sunrisers Hyderabad Left-arm pacer T Natarajan getting tested positive for Covid-19 during the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2021 United Arab Emirates (UAE) leg.

Notably, The left-arm seamer of team Sunrisers Hyderabad T Natarajan has been tested positive and is in isolation, fortunately, he is currently asymptomatic. Also, it has been revealed that there were as many as six people in close contact with the pacer and they are in isolation.

Among the six players who are in close contact with T Natarajan one of them is all-rounder Vijay Shankar and the others are managers and a net bowler.

After the news broke out other players of Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) underwent RT-PCR tests and fortunately, all the players returned with a COVID-19 negative report. So the 33rd match of Indian Premier League (IPL) 2021 between Delhi Capitals (DC) and Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) is still on.

Notably, ahead of the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2021, team India was in England for the 5-match Test series. However, the last match of the series was called off after the Covid-19 scare in the Indian camp. As the junior physio Yogesh Parmar was found positive for Covid-19 and several players were in close contact with him and they were hesitant to play the 5th Test which led to the cancellation of the series.

Meanwhile, talking about this cancellation Michael Vaughan has written on his official Twitter handle that he feels that the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2021 UAE leg won’t be cancelled like the 5th Test match. Michael Vaughan wrote:

The Indian bowling all-rounder Shardul Thakur produced an excellent all-around performance at the Oval in the fourth test but couldn’t win the man of the match award. Thakur’s 57 off 36 in the first innings was the third quickest ever by an Indian in the test history and he backed it up with a 60 in the second innings with both the fifties coming in at crucial times.

With the ball, he picked up three wickets in the match overall, and whenever India needed a wicket, he provided the breakthrough at the right time. His performance in the test had been outstanding but Rohit also managed to bring up his first overseas test century and he got the man of the match award with the commentators’ call.

“I Have Never Been Lucky With These Awards”- Shardul Thakur

Shardul Thakur in an interview was questioned his view on not getting the man of the match award in the Oval test and he felt a little disappointed in the award not going his way. Thakur added that he has always been unlucky when it comes to awards and was delighted by the fact that his state teammate Rohit won the Award.

“Well, I appreciate that people are talking about it and feel I should have been adjudged as the ‘Man of the Match.’ I have never been lucky with these awards, but I am really happy for Rohit that he won the award this time. His century was equally important for us.” Shardul Thakur told in an interview with TOI.

Shardul Thakur mentioned that Rohit’s century was very special with the tough conditions in England and also it was his first overseas ton as well. Thakur was happy that even Rohit acknowledged his performance and added that Rohit mentioned him as the real candidate for bagging the award.

“It was his first overseas hundred, and that too in England, where the ball does a bit more than any other country. Yes, even he appreciated my performance and said that I could have been the real candidate. ” He added

During a chat with The Indian Express the right-arm pacer was questioned; Are you happy with the new nickname ‘Lord Thakur’?.

To which, Thakur replied that he enjoys his Lord Shardul memes on social media. Also, he told that he don’t mind having such names. Shardul Thakur asserted:

These memes are all over social media. I enjoy it. It shows how much love I’m getting from all quarters. I don’t mind such names. Somewhere, I feel I haven’t achieved anything yet, and I don’t want to be in such a position where I feel to be satisfied.”

Meanwhile, the 29-year-old further added that he has seen days where fans on social media condemned his existence in the squad. He also added that he wants to be remembered as someone who made an impact whenever he played. Shardul Thakur elaborated:

“I have seen days where the same social media has cursed my presence in the team. For me, what matters is down the line, I want people to remember me as the guy who, whenever he played, made an impact in the game and we won it.”
