Last Month’s Test series between India and England came to an abrupt halt after the former pulled out of the fifth and final Test to be held in Manchester citing Covid-19 concerns. Now, the ICC has set up a separate panel to discuss matters related to the final outcome of the series.

For the time being, India leads the 5-match Test series by 2-1. However, the England and Wales Cricket Board (ECB) raised the matter with the ICC and claimed that the match should be counted as a forfeit instead of a no-result. Speaking about that, Acting CEO, Geoff Allardice, stated:

The competition terms of the World Test Championship states that if for whatever reason, the series is not being able to be completed with matches left to be played, the first step is to reschedule those matches in the competition window.

T20 World Cup will have neutral umpires and two DRS referrals per innings – ICC

For the first time in the history of the T20 World Cup, the Decision Review System (DRS) will be used. Each team will be allowed to use two referrals per innings. The ICC had made the increment last year when neutral umpires couldn’t travel in pandemic times and the boards had to use home umpires instead.

Coming to neutral umpires, the apex council confirmed that it is looking to bring back the neutral umpires for the upcoming T20 World Cup. The restrictions in UAE aren’t as tight as in other countries and so the elite ICC umpires can travel without any issues.
