Indian cricket team will be staying at The Palm for th8 ICC T20 World Cup 2021 in the United Arab Emirates.
The T20 World Cup is just less than a month away from now, and many of the players are already present in the host nation as they are participating in the ongoing IPL 2021.
Indian team likely to stay in Th8 Palm hotel for T20 World Cup
India will be led by Virat Kohli in the showpiece event as it will be the last time the Indian skipper will captain the team in the shortest format of the game. According to some sources, the Indian contingent will get its accommodation at Th8 Palm hotel, where currently MS Dhoni’s Chennai Super Kings is residing in.
The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) is yet to finalise the accommodation, but they have already shortlisted Th8 Palm hotel in Dubai.
“The Indian team is likely to stay at Th8 Palm. The deal is yet to be finalized, but this one has been zeroed in on. As for the coaching staff, they are set to arrive around October 2 and undergo six-day quarantine before they can be a part of the T20 World Cup bubble,” sources close to the development told news agency ANI.
India to play Pakistan in their opening match of the T20 World Cup
BCCI has already announced a 15-member squad along with three reserved players for the mega event next month. Former Indian skipper Dhoni is appointed as the team’s mentor for the T20 World Cup.
India are paired with Pakistan, Afghanistan, New Zealand, and two more teams yet to be qualified in the Group 2 of the Super 12 stage. Virat Kohli and his men will take on arch-rivals Pakistan on October 24 in their first match at the Dubai International Stadium.
In the previous edition of the 2016 T20 World Cup, hosted in India, MS Dhoni’s side reached the semi-finals and eventually lost to defending champions West Indies in Mumbai.
