Cricketer turned commentator Aakash Chopra believes that Kolkata Knight Riders will knock out Delhi Capitals from IPL 2021 in the Qualifier 2 game in Sharjah.

Eoin Morgan-led KKR defeated Royal Challengers Bangalore by four wickets in the Eliminator match on Monday at the Sharjah Cricket Stadium to end Virat Kohli and his men’s quest for their elusive IPL title.

KKR knocked out RCB in Eliminator match

After opting to bat first, RCB posted a meagre total of 138/7 as West Indies spinner Sunil Narine wreaked havoc with the ball as he picked the crucial wickets of skipper Virat Kohli, AB de Villiers and Glenn Maxwell to end with the figures of 4/21.

Narine’s impact was not only restricted with his bowling, but he also made sure to count his batting performance, too, as he clobbered three continuous sixes against Christian’s bowling in the 12th over. Narine’s carnage brought down the required run rate to less than seven runs per over.

On the other hand, Delhi Capitals failed to defend their competitive total of 172 against Chennai Super Kings as Ruturaj Gaikwad (70) and Robin Uthappa (63) set the tone for CSK before MS Dhoni finished the proceedings.

Chopra predicted that Rishabh Pant’s side will be defeated in the Qualifier 2 and KKR will meet CSK in IPL final for the second time.

“I am saying Kolkata will win. I feel Delhi’s campaign will end today, you will not be able to win the match today. You will bid goodbye to this tournament because of self-goals and unforced errors again,” Chopra said on his YouTube channel.

“There was no reason for you to not score 180 that day and there was no reason for you to not defend that total with one over of Rabada left. Sharjah’s ground is not going to suit your game.

“One batter will be stumped out. Why? I don’t know. Spinners will take more than five wickets. Left-handed openers to score more runs than right-handed openers. That means Shikhar Dhawan and Venkatesh Iyer will score more runs than Shubman Gill and Prithvi Shaw,” he added.

KKR hold the edge over Delhi Capitals as they have won 15 of their 29 encounters and lost 13 times against their opponents.
