IPL 2021: Ruturaj Gaikwad Names His Most Satisfying Knock Of The Tournament

Ruturaj Gaikwad

Chennai Super Kings opener Ruturaj Gaikwad said that his unbeaten 88 against Mumbai Indians gave him the most satisfaction.

Gaikwad scored 88 runs off 58 balls, his innings was laced by nine fours and four sixes.

Mumbai Indians New Zealand pacers Trent Boult and Adam Milne gave massive blows to MS Dhoni and his men as the duo brought CSK down to 24/4 at the end of the powerplay.

However, Gaikwad combined with all-rounder Ravindra Jadeja to build an 81-run stand between them that resurrected the sinking ship. Gaikwad pulled Kieron Pollard for a boundary to bring up his sixth IPL fifty.

Gaikwad was restless in the death overs as he alone scored 32 runs in the last four overs where he smashed Bumrah for a couple of sixes, the one that came off the final delivery defined the batter’s audacity in a very sweet manner.

CSK went on to win over Mumbai Indians by 20 runs despite an early collapse in the game.

When Gaikwad was asked about the most satisfying knock in his stellar IPL 2021 campaign, the Maharashtra batter replied the one against MI as the team was in a challenging position.

“The one against Mumbai Indians (the most satisfying knck) because we where not in a good situation. So to take the team to a par total on that pitch was really special,” Gaikwad told New Indian Express.

“Initially I thought we won’t even get that many runs on board, but we got there in the end,” he added.
