IPL 2022 Mega Auction: 3 Big Players Mumbai Indians (MI) Might Release. Despite the hurdles and challenges the COVID-19 pandemic posed before the world, the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) ensured the IPL 2021 was completed without much hindrance.

The tournament had to be halted in May owing to the rising number of COVID-19 cases in India and subsequently had to be moved to the United Arab Emirates (UAE)

MS Dhoni’s Chennai Super Kings won the IPL 2021 after a thumping win against Kolkata Knight Riders by 27 runs in the final on October 15.

For many of the players, IPL 2021 could be the last time they might have played for the respective franchises.

As it is said ‘ The Show Must Go On’ and so like the Indian Premier League, one of the richest leagues in the sporting world, is set to once again expand the tournament with two new teams.

BCCI had floated an Invitation to Tender (ITT) inviting bids for owning two new teams to be inducted in IPL. Interested parties could buy the tender for a non-refundable 110 lakh plus taxes till October 5.

Hence IPL 2022 will see most of the players go under the auctions table as BCCI has planned a mega auction where each team will be able to retain a maximum of three players.

Five-time defending champions Mumbai Indians had an odd year in IPL 2021 as they missed their qualification mark to Kolkata Knight Riders due to inferior net run rate.

1) Suryakumar Yadav

Suryakumar moved to MI from KKR in 2018 and since then he has emerged as one of the valiant batters in their ranks.

Between 2018-20 he consistently scored above 400 but in IPL 2021 he struggled with the bat especially in the second leg in UAE.

Suryakumar did play a consolation innings of 82 against Sunrisers Hyderabad which was too late in the tournament as MI missed to make it to the playoffs.

Suryakumar might still have big price money in the auctions.
