Jos Buttler Expects Birth Of 2nd Child; Might Miss Remaining Matches Of India Vs England Test Series

England’s wicketkeeper Jos Buttler might miss the remaining two games of the ongoing India vs England Test series. Jos Buttler is expecting the birth of his 2nd child. His wife Louise is due to give birth to his 2nd child soon and it might force the England cricketer to opt out of the rest of the series.

So far, the right-handed batsman has been part of England’s playing XI in all the 3 Tests of India’s tour of England 2021. He has managed to keep the stumps quite effectively but has totally struggled in the batting department. Jos Buttler has mustered just 72 runs in 5 innings across 3 Tests, owning a mere batting average of 14.40.

That Will Be Cleared Up In Next Couple Of Days: Joe Root On Jos Buttler’s Availability In Next Game

While speaking to Daily Mail about Jos Buttler’s participation in the rest of the two games, England skipper Joe Root said the matter will be cleared in a couple of days.

“That will be cleared up in the next couple of days. Hopefully, we can have some clarity on that and get that across to you as soon as that’s set in stone. I couldn’t tell you honestly either way at the minute. I don’t want to say one thing and it not turn out to be true,” Root was quoted as saying by Daily Mail.

Jos Buttler had earlier mentioned that he will miss the 5th and the final Test against India. However, there are chances that right-handed batsman will have to bid goodbye to the team ahead of the next 4th Test encounter itself. If Buttler departs from the tour, Jonny Bairstow might take over the wicketkeeper’s duty for England in the series.

England managed an impressive victory against India in the 3rd Test at Headingley in Leeds. Bowling out India for 78 and 278 in both the innings, the Joe Root-led side managed a comfortable win by an innings and 76 runs. Earlier, England smacked 432-10 in the 1st innings.
