Former Indian wicketkeeper-batsman Parthiv Patel has revealed team India’s probable playing XI for the high-voltage encounter against arch-rivals Pakistan.
India National Cricket Team is placed in the Group 2 of the ICC Men’s T20 World Cup 2021 alongside Pakistan, New Zealand and Afghanistan. The Men In Blue will commence their journey Super12s with a battle against arch-rivals Pakistan on 24 October in Dubai.
On Monday, India defeated England by 7 wickets in the warm-up match. Rohit Sharma was not part of the playing XI and Ishan Kishan was given the opportunity at the top and he played a 70 runs knock. Also opener KL Rahul batted brilliantly and scored 51 runs off 24 deliveries.
On the bowling side of things, Mohammed Shami shined and he was able to bag 3 wickets in four overs. Jasprit Bumrah as always looked good and picked one wicket and his Mumbai Indians teammate Rahul Chahar also registered a dismissal. Off-spinner Ravichandran Ashwin didn’t register any wicket but was economical and Bhuvneshwar Kumar had a horrible outing as he gave 54 runs in his 4 overs quota.
I Am Sure Virat Knows His Playing XI – Parthiv Patel
Speaking on a Star Sports show, Parthiv Patel said that the Indian skipper Virat Kohli knows his playing XI combination very well. Parthiv Patel stated :
“I am sure Virat knows his playing XI and probably not the names, but I am sure he knows what combination he wants to go with. To me, the question will be, should you play Bhuvneshwar Kumar or Shardul Thakur
Parthiv Patel further revealed his playing XI and said that India will have to make a tough call between Shardul Thakur and Bhuvneshwar Kumar for the last spot in the playing XI. Parthiv Patel stated:
“Probably Rohit Sharma & KL Rahul to open Virat at No.3, Suryakumar at No.4, Rishabh at No. 5, Hardik – even if he is not bowling, he is picked as someone who can finish the game – Ravindra Jadeja, Rahul Chahar, Shami, Bumrah and the last choice will be between Shardul Thakur and Bhuvneshwar Kumar”
