Former South Africa all-rounder Lance Klusener has said that India has enough ammunition to tackle Pakistan ahead of their mouth-watering clash on October 24 in the upcoming ICC T20 World Cup 2021 which begins on October 17 in the United Arab Emirates (UAE) and Oman.

India and Pakistan have been grouped with New Zealand and Afghanistan along with two qualifying teams in Group 2 of the Super 12s round in the tournament. Both teams have a storied history which is made more intriguing since both teams only play in ICC events having last played a bilateral series in 2012-13.

Since the inaugural edition of the World T20 tournament in 2007, India has faced Pakistan five times in the tournament overall and emerged victorious on all occasions. Pakistan has lost to India in all their meeting in the ICC 50-over World cup as well since their first meeting in 1992 event in Australia and New Zealand.

This Clash Is Not The One To Be Missed, Especially In Big Competitions Like World Cups: Lance Klusener On India-Pakistan Match

Lance Klusener, who is the head coach of Afghanistan, in an interview with Times of India, talked about the upcoming blockbuster match between India and Pakistan in T20 World Cup.

“India vs Pakistan is always a huge huge game. This clash is not the one to be missed, especially in big competitions like World Cups. The Pakistan team has come a long way of late. They’ve produced some excellent batters. Their bowling will always be competitive. Virat Kohli and his team have got too much ammunition for them. However, if India has a bit of an off day and Pakistan brings their best game, they can easily cause an upset.

I feel, possibly, India’s got too much ammunition for a team like Pakistan. However, we know how unpredictable they (Pakistan) are and how exciting they are to watch. So, it’s a very difficult one to call, but if Pakistan shows up and has a good day, they can beat any team in the world,” said Klusener.

India has won the title once so far – which was in the inaugural edition in South Africa in 2007, under MS Dhoni’s captaincy. While Pakistan won the title in 2009 under the captaincy of Younis Khan.
